Fine art compositionist, Joseph Wigley, creates in his Hill Country Studio home 5 miles north of Dripping Spring, Texas just off Ranch Road 12. He inadvertently began a career in sculpture and art composition in 1966 at the "Culinary Institute of America" when located at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

During a 17 year journey as a professional and corporate executive chef, he honed composition skills with lavish buffet sculptures for some of the finest hotels, restaurants and private clubs in America. Those masterful works of art didn't survive more than a few hours, fortunately his current works of art will be with us and enjoyed for a long time.

Joe began his latest art avenue using materials found on surrounding Hill Country land or from other artist friends whose remnants no longer met their needs. The pieces show nature's raw beauty while leaving the viewer space for interpretation. His creations are finely detailed and hardily fragile and indiscernibly blend with each other.

After testing a variety of techniques, Joseph continues to explore with great passion. The use of wood, stone, metal, canvas, bronze and wax are the foundation of his art compositions.

The majority of Joseph's work is for interior enjoyment on walls, pedestals, shelves or tabletops.

Joe has had exhibitions at :

The Umlauf Sculpture Center, Austin, TX
Carved Stone Sculpture Challenge , Dripping Springs, TX
Werth Gallery, Dripping Springs, TX
Welsey Gallery, Dripping Springs, TX
